VCTC Level 1 Hairdressing

The VTCT Level 1 Certificate in Hairdressing is an introductory course designed for learners who are interested in starting a career in the hairdressing and barbering industry. This qualification provides a strong foundation by developing essential practical skills and industry knowledge required to work in a salon or retail environment.

Throughout the course, learners will gain an understanding of how the hair and beauty industry operates, with a focus on working professionally and safely. The programme covers key areas including customer service skills, shampooing and conditioning hair, health and safety practices, and maintaining a clean and organised working environment.

Learners will also explore the retail side of the industry, developing skills in stock control and ordering, understanding product use, and supporting day-to-day salon operations. This course helps build confidence, communication skills, and employability, preparing learners for further study or progression to a Level 2 Hairdressing or Barbering qualification.

This qualification is ideal for beginners with little or no previous experience who are motivated to learn and develop practical salon skills in a supportive learning environment.
